DRUMMING
Our action packed sessions are designed to provide rewarding creative opportunities for everyone involved. We want individuals to develop a sense of community, presence and strengthened confidence through group music making so we encourage teamwork, playful expression and acknowledge individual contributions throughout.

We usually work with groups of between 10 - 30 participants (larger is possible) and provide drums and percussion equipment for everyone. With younger groups it helps to put similar abilities together so that we can keep everyone engaged. For older participants, big groups mean big rewards.

What can you expect from one of our drumming sessions?
(some of the following may be age / numbers specific):

Hearing and playing rhythms from around the world
Drumming and percussion skills
Learning names, origins and roles of instruments
Listening and imitating
Creating our own rhythms, applying improvisation skills
Facilitation skills - leading the Group
Layering rhythms
Competitions and performances

CIRCUS SKILLS
Andy also runs fun circus skills sessions! We usually begin our circus workshops by showcasing the different disciplines available. The remainder of our time is then broken up into shorter slots where we can focus on particular skills. Everyone likes to show off, so we either give the group regular opportunities to display their talents or invite everyone to pick and return to their favorites at the end of the session.

Andy currently has equipment for 15 people to practice any one discipline at a given time. If you have a large group, this will mean that different groups will be learning different disciplines at the same time. Remember that we are available for one off and ongoing sessions.

What equipment can we try out in our circus skills sessions?

Spinning Plates
Juggling Balls
Hula Hoops
Diabolo
Poi
Devil Sticks
Slack rope

Please consider the floor space you have available before making a booking. Will everyone have enough space to practice without bumping into each other?

Eclipse Arts can provide a wider range of equipment for larger groups and may be available when Andy is not.

WORKSHOPS AT FESTIVALS
Our drumming and percussion sessions offer valuable human experiences that complement any festival. They encourage creative and spontaneous expression. Participants also have the opportunity to engage meaningfully with one another generating an atmosphere of personal worth, belonging and fun.

We provide a friendly and accessible space where individuals of all abilities can get together
and do this.

RhythmZone sets up and promotes an attended marquee with mixed drumming and percussion equipment for 60+ participants (with room for for dancing / chilling out). Want us to work with larger groups? Just ask.

RhythmZone is an inclusive space where strangers have the rewarding experience of meeting and creating music together. Our marquee becomes a vibrant place for in the moment creative expression. Involvement for all participants is free, has a variety of health benefits and leaves no mess. An experience everyone is grateful for.
